Into the Drink

Two delicious smoothies for hair health.

It’s no secret: a slump in hair growth can be the result of a lack of certain nutrients. Ingesting the proper vitamins and minerals on a daily basis can help you get back on track. The simplest and most efficient way to give your diet a hair-healthy boost? Add a delicious vitamin-packed smoothie to your morning ritual. Here are two recipes designed to give you a thick, strong, manageable mane.

Berry Green Avocado Smoothie

  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1 cup organic blueberries
  • 1 cup organic strawberries
  • 2 Tbsp. walnuts
  • 2 cups almond milk

Pour ingredients in a blender or vitamix and blend until smooth.

Avocado contains niacin that improves circulation to the scalp thereby stimulating hair follicles.

Spinach contains iron that helps red blood cells deliver oxygen throughout the body without which you would loose hair.

Berries contain vitamin C that, among a host of other benefits, facilitates collagen production, which keeps hair strong and flexible.

Walnuts & almond milk contain protein that keeps hair structure strong.

  2. 1 cup honeydew melon, chopped
