‘Oil pulling’, or swishing oil in your mouth for 10-20 minutes per day, has been gaining traction (so to speak) on the wellness scene since the 1990s. Based on ancient Ayurveda treatments, oil pulling is believed to whiten teeth, detox the body, fortify gums and even improve heart health. Traditionally sesame oil was the go-to, but current practitioners love coconut oil (of course). You could also use sunflower oil or ghee.
