Ritual

T'zikal Intense Moisture Hand Balm — Ojon Oil (Batana Oil) Ritual for Dry, Chapped Hands
The Ritual
Intense Moisture Hand Balm
Ojon Oil (Batana Oil) Repair Ritual for Dry, Chapped & Cracked Hands
⏳  Total ritual time: 3–5 minutes
Made With Integrity
Genuine Ojon Oil (Batana Oil) — sourced traditionally from Honduras
Paraben-Free
EDTA-Free
No Animal Testing
No Artificial Fragrance, Color, or Dye
pH-Balanced — formulated to support the skin barrier
Step by Step
1
Prepare the Skin
1 min
Start with clean, completely dry hands. The Intense Moisture Hand Balm absorbs most effectively into dry skin rather than damp — the ojon oil and Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil need a clean surface to penetrate the skin barrier. For severely chapped or cracked hands, soak in warm water for 2 minutes first, then pat completely dry. This softens the keratin layer and allows deeper absorption of batana oil into the damaged areas.
2
Apply the Ojon Oil Hand Balm
1–2 min
Scoop a small amount of the Intense Moisture Hand Balm — about the size of a pea — onto your fingertips. The balm is concentrated; a little goes further than you think. Warm it briefly between your palms until it becomes pliable, then apply to the back of one hand.
3
Massage Into Damaged Areas
1–2 min
Using the thumb of your opposite hand, massage the ojon oil hand balm into the skin using slow, deliberate circular motions. Work from your wrist toward your fingertips. Focus extra attention on knuckles, cuticles, the spaces between fingers, and any cracked or scaly areas. These zones lose moisture fastest and benefit most from concentrated batana oil delivery. The omega-rich fatty acid profile of ojon oil — primarily oleic and linoleic acids — allows it to penetrate the skin barrier rather than coating the surface, which is why it works on damaged skin where lighter products fall short.
4
Allow Absorption
1 min
Let the balm absorb for 60 seconds before doing anything else. The pH-balanced formulation works with your skin’s natural acid mantle rather than against it, which is what allows the ojon oil to settle into the dermal layer instead of sitting on top. The 100% natural essential oil fragrance — bergamot, lavender, ylang-ylang, orange — turns this minute into a brief wellness ritual. Take it. Breathe it in.
5
Repeat on the Other Hand
1–2 min
Repeat steps 2 through 4 on your other hand. Even if only one hand feels especially dry, treat both — the daily exposure that caused the cracking is affecting both hands equally, even if the damage is showing on one first.
How Often
For chronically dry or chapped hands: apply morning and evening as a minimum. For cracked or severely damaged skin: apply after every hand wash throughout the day, and again before sleep. The overnight application is your highest-value window — the skin’s natural repair cycle is most active during sleep, and the ojon oil’s reparative work compounds over the 7 to 8 hours of uninterrupted rest. Most people see visible improvement in skin texture and reduced cracking after one day of consistent use.
Between Applications
  • Keep it within reach.  Keep one balm on your nightstand for the overnight application and one in your bag or at the kitchen sink for daytime use. The dry-hands repair ritual only works when you do it consistently — accessibility drives consistency.
  • For severely cracked or chapped hands:  Apply the ojon oil hand balm generously before bed and wear thin cotton gloves overnight. The occlusive environment amplifies batana oil absorption significantly. Most people see chapping clear within 2 to 3 nights of this protocol.
  • After every hand wash.  Soap and hot water strip the skin’s natural oils with every wash. Reapply the balm immediately after washing — especially in winter, after dishes, or after any exposure to cleaning products or hard water. Don’t let the moisture deficit compound.
  • On the cuticles, every night.  A small amount of the balm massaged into the cuticles before bed prevents the hangnails, splits, and rough skin that come from chronic moisture loss in that thin skin zone.
  • Treat it as a wellness moment.  The natural essential oil blend — bergamot, lavender, ylang-ylang, orange — is genuinely calming. Use the 30 seconds of application as a small pause in your day. That is what makes a ritual different from a routine.
