Introducing T’zikal hair care products with a great giveaway
T’ZIKAL BEAUTY is a new company to Beauty Info Zone. They sent us some great products for hair and skin and have offered a giveaway to one of our US readers. You know we love giveaways and we don’t think there are enough beauty ones on the internet, so we let our curiosity for new products take hold.
Today we’re talking about T’ZIKAL hair products. We have 4 different ones to tell you about (3 of which will be in the giveaway). First though we need to learn about T’ZIKAL.
T’zikal developed their products using their main ingredient, Ojon oil, from Honduras. After learning about ancient beauty rituals from Central America they found that what they most admired was their beautiful hair. They used natural, simple and high quality ingredients to develop their hair care. What attracted us to them is that they don’t do animal testing, are free of parabens, artificial colors, fragrances and days.
The name T’zikal (pronounced Tee-Zee-Cal) means sanctified or blessed in the Mayan language. Their remarkable main ingredient, Ojon Oil, comes from the Palm Nut Tree which produces up to 8,000 nuts per tree, yet once refined those 8,000 nuts create just 3 cups of pure oil. Just a small amount of Ojon Oil seals the hair cuticle for optimal radiance and extraordinary shine.
WHAT’S MARCIA USING ON HER HAIR?
Both Lisa and I are using Deep Hydrating Shampoo ($32 for 10 oz, $10 for 2.5 oz) and Deep Moisturizing Conditioner ($34 for 10 oz, $12 for 2.5 oz). (At the time of this writing they have a BOGO going on to buy one shampoo and get another free.) These are made for dry or damaged hair. While I don’t have damaged hair I do consider it dry which is a big change from my younger days. I used to wash my hair daily but now I do it every 2 – 3 days. I love that the shampoo and moisturizing conditioner hydrate my hair.
What I’m finding with T’zikal is that my hair is feeling cleaner than ever after my second day so that I’m going into day three with a fresher head of hair. My hair is a little fuller and shiny. I must address the fragrance of these two products. In the introduction it’s mentioned that there’s no artificial fragrance, which is true. But the products do have a fragrance albeit a natural one. When I first smell this and when I’m in the shower I notice an herbal woodsy fragrance but surprisingly after I style my hair with a leave in conditioner, it’s gone. The first time I used these products I wondered if I’d be able to use them again – that answer is definitely yes. Once I saw how much I liked the shine and effect on my hair, I was sold.
T’zikal Shine Rich Dry Oil Mist ($32 for 2 oz) is where I differ from Lisa. I’m using this unusual dry oil spray on day 2 or 3 to bring my hair extra shine and pizzazz. You don’t spray it directly on your hair because you don’t need that much. Instead I spray it on my palms, rub them together and smooth it through my hair. Actually the directions say to use this on damp hair but I already get an amazing shine from T’zikal so I cheat! If you have areas that are particularly dry and/or damaged then use extra of the Dry Oil Mist there. You don’t need very much of this at all. A little goes a long way.
WHAT’S LISA USING ON HER HAIR?
Like Marcia, I am using the Deep Hydrating Shampoo and Deep Moisturizing Conditioner. My hair is quite different from hers – she may not brag about it, but Marcia has amazing hair that is pretty close to perfect. Mine always needs a lot of work. It’s long, about mid-back length, and I have tons of it. It’s quite fine, so while it needs moisture it also doesn’t need any extra weight. Also, since it’s color treated, I need hair products that protect my color and keep it vibrant.
I have a bit of wave in my hair but nothing too impressive, so I use tons of heat styling. My hair is also so dry that I can get away with four or even five days between washes with the right products. Considering the level of abuse my hair takes, I need super effective hair care that really takes good care of me. No question, the T’Zikal Deep Hydrating Shampoo and Deep Moisture Conditioning Cream do the job! They leave my hair clean, moisturized, shiny, and full of body.
The Curl Defining Serum ($38) is a light leave-in conditioner that features Ojon oil. It’s applied to damp hair and soothes super dry ends, enhances shine, and makes short work of frizz and flyaway hair, which can be problematic especially with curly hair. To create curls, I typically use hot rollers, a curling iron, or my secret weapon – the Conair Infinity Pro Curl Secret, which makes simply fabulous spiral curls that last for days.
A lot of styling creams say they can be used on wet or dry hair, but my hair is so fine it typically doesn’t respond well when I try to put product on after it’s dry. However, theT’Zikal Curl Defining Serum is an exception. My hair loves this to smooth out second or third day hair and it gives more life and bounce to my (totally not natural!) curls.
If your hair is on the dry side, these T’zikal hair products are for you! They bring life to dull hair and are sure to be the source of many excellent hair days in the future.
