Blackcurrants and Berries

Vitamin C 🍋 is an antioxidant that aids in the absorption of iron. It also helps in the production of collagen, thereby strengthening hair shafts.

While it probably comes as no surprise that berries are some of the best sources of Vitamin C, you might not be as familiar with blackcurrants, which are also packed with hair-healthy stuff.

This summer 🌞, you can bottle (or jar) the bounty of the season by making your own jam.

  1. The night before you plan to make your jam, layer 8 cups of mixed strawberries 🍓, raspberries and blackcurrants with about 4 cups of sugar in a large bowl, cover and leave out at room temperature. 
  2. The next day, transfer the mixture to a large pot 🥣and mash together then bring to a boil for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once the mixture thickens to a jam texture, remove from heat and transfer to jars, cover and cool completely then store.
